It just doesn't get anymore local than this place
You will hear the real New Orleans accent here-- the one that sounds like Brooklyn. Singer Fats Domino eats here often (and is played a lot on the juke box). We were seated across from him recently. The seafood is fantastic. It's across the Street from a Naval Base in the Bywater district (next to the Marigny neighborhood), so filled with military guys and natives. A real local treasure. Go for lunch or early dinner, as they close by 8pm (and stop serving 15-30 minutes before). Try the (almost) all you can eat steamed Dungeness crab for less than $20.00. (Or any seafood dish.)
